Snowmageddon 2014 - Brittany & Devin

winter

It’s the middle of March, and we woke up to a foot of freshly fallen snow today.  One more foot on top of what has already been the most snow I have ever seen in my life!  I hate to be a complainer, but, seriously, when is it going to stop!?!  So let’s just consider this winter recap post me shaking my fist at mother nature and yelling at her loud and clear that we’re ready for spring!

All complaining aside, this has been a lovely winter.  We’ve had some great, snowy adventures here in the north.  My parents celebrated their 29th wedding anniversary this winter and as a gift, my siblings all went in on a white water rafting trip for them.  So. Much. Fun.  It was gorgeous and fun and I HIGHLY recommend everyone give it a try!  We went down the Sturgeon River through Big Bear Adventures. Tell Jamie we sent you :)

This also proved to be a fabulous winter for snowmobiling.  The trails were heavenly with all of the fresh fallen snow still on the trees.  I love the symmetry and order of the northern pines.  I wish I looked out my back window to this in the wintertime.

We also had a great deal of fun snowshoeing through the woods.  Everett loves chillin in his backpack.

Everett has mixed emotions about the snow.  I don’t blame him – I’m feeling the same way these days!

All of these snow days has meant lots of snuggling on the couch.  I have savored every second of this little boy snuggled up against me.

This is really random, but I’ve really been trying to be more conscious about what goes into our bodies.  The best thing I’ve implemented so far has been green smoothies.  They are amazingly delicious and all three of us love them – especially Everett.  And I love that I can go to bed at night resting assured that he has gotten all of his fruits and veggies in for the day :)

Everett and I ventured off to Arizona for a wedding and engagement session in February.  We had such a lovely time soaking up some sun and hanging out in the desert.  The warm weather was such a welcome relief, but such a tease.  We came back home to more snow and cold, and now we’re just all the more ready for springtime!

Life moves pretty fast around here, but we’re really trying our best to slow down and enjoy each moment.  I’m so thankful for the power of smartphones and always having a camera in my back pocket.  Feel free to follow along with our day-to-day moments on Instagram.  We’re @brittanyanddevin if you’d like to join us!

Hopefully we’re not holed up in the snow for too much longer.  Surely spring is coming….  Right?
