I had the best time photographing Lindsay and Tyler around Caseville, Michigan last week. The weather was amazing and the occasion was extra special. This was honestly some of the most fun I’ve had at a photo shoot in some time. I’m sure I only felt a fraction of what Tyler was feeling, but I was nervous and excited and a whole bundle of nerves trying to keep a very big secret! Stay tuned till the big reveal at the end…
So this is where things really start to get good :) The best part of this session is that Tyler contacted me way back in January, while he was deployed in Afghanistan. He had just wired money to Lindsay’s best friend to purchase a ring and he had the perfect plan for how he wanted to propose. He invited me to join them at his family’s beach house – we would do photos around town and then head down to the beach with the ring. We walked to a secluded point along the beach and the rest is history – as documented by the photos below. I seriously melt every time I look at them! Most thoughtful guy ever. Lindsay is one lucky girl!
We felt so blessed and lucky to document Kristen + Jon’s wedding day a couple weeks back. It was one of those days where you could just tell that so much love had been poured into every last detail. Kristen’s dad must have spent weeks carving all of the tree stumps and Kristen poured hours into Pinterest hand picking the most minute of details to perfectly describe her and Jon’s love. We love photographing weddings like that – and it truly feels like an honor when couples trust us with their memories.
I hung out with the ladies while Devin tended to the guys. Why is it that guys only take like 5 minute to get ready? I think half the fun of a wedding day is getting ready – they’re totally missing out!
These two had one of the sweetest first looks ever. Jon was hesitant about seeing Kristen before the ceremony, but we assured him it would be great. We set him up under the arbor Kristen and her dad lovingly made and Kristen walked down the aisle for him. So sweet.
These two invited people who know how to dance to their party! We had so much fun with this crew. It was a perfect way to end the evening!
We joined Sunni + Rod the other day at the courthouse for an elopement. It was so fun! They had the sweetest outdoor ceremony under a big old tree, where they committed themselves to one another in front of the preacher, Devin and I. What an honor to be the only witnesses and to document the incredible moment with our cameras. This job is a blessing. Such a blessing.
We explored the urban area around the courthouse. These two were soaking it all in. Aren’t they just adorable together? And good looking. Did I mention they’re good looking? Sunni has great style. Just check out those Jimmy Choos! I was drooling. And so were other women walking by us. You wouldn’t believe how may compliments Sunni got just walking around in those beauties :)
And then we headed over to one of my favorites, Maumee Bay, where we enjoyed the trails and headed over the beach for some sun. It was a perfect day. The sky couldn’t have been bluer and the the sun was shining magnificently, just for these two!
